Sinyun Chen

Shih Chien University

As an undergraduate student majoring in leather design, I have a solid foundation in material research, pattern making, and leather craftsmanship. I am proficient in design software and skilled at combining innovative concepts with traditional leather techniques to create practical yet artistic works. During my studies, I have completed multiple leather design projects, focusing on sustainable materials and modern aesthetic expression. I pay close attention to details and have strong hands-on skills and a sharp sense of beauty. I have actively participated in professional design competitions to improve myself. I once took part in the Yunlin Design Competition in Taiwan and won the 10th prize, which greatly encouraged my creative confidence. Besides design, I also enjoy drawing in my spare time. Painting helps me train my observation and imagination, which in turn inspires my leather design ideas. I keep up with international fashion trends and the latest developments in the leather industry. I am passionate about leather design and eager to display my creativity on the professional platform of the World Leather Competition. I am willing to learn from outstanding designers around the world, challenge myself continuously, and further improve my professional ability through this event.

WHALE FALL

Category: Apparel

Competitions: Taiwan Region

This modern leather dress integrates whale elements, natural leather craftsmanship, and environmental protection. It uses eco-friendly full-grain cowhide and soft lambskin, with a color scheme inspired by the ocean and whales. The asymmetric cut and tailored waist create a stylish silhouette, while stitching and rivets highlight fine workmanship. By adopting sustainable leather materials and minimizing synthetic fabrics, the design conveys the concept of green fashion and marine protection. It expresses respect for nature and hopes to arouse public attention to whale protection and ecological sustainability through wearable design.
