Hung Ching CHEN

Shih Chien University

Hello, my name is Hung-Ching Chen and I’m currently studying Fashion Design with a strong interest in deconstruction and material experimentation. I view fashion as a language for challenging norms and reconstructing identity. My design approach is influenced by deconstructionist philosophy—focusing on asymmetry, raw edges, and disrupted structures to create unexpected silhouettes and emotional resonance.

Suspended Point

Category: Design*

Competitions: Taiwan Region

This is not a chair designed for rest, but a structure that suspends the body in a state of spatial hesitation. The metal frame does not support—it delineates. It marks a boundary without offering orientation. Neither interior nor exterior, it is a threshold rendered in lines. The leather seat floats within this geometry, inviting touch without grounding. As you sit, you are lifted— hovering in a posture that refuses finality. This is not comfort. It is a site of suspension, where the body wavers between approach and refusal. This is a suspended point. A place that cannot hold you—yet draws you in.

Floating Punctum

Category: Accessories

Competitions: Taiwan Region

The bag is no longer a container for objects, but a mechanism for spatial dislocation. You see the inside, yet you cannot touch it. You touch the surface, yet cannot tell whether it’s the interior or the exterior. Every structure seduces you to enter, but at the same time refuses to provide orientation. This is not an act of storage, but a slippage in the meaning of space.
