RECRAIMING OUR WEARTH FROM REAL LEATHER -Introduction Africa is a home of natural resources and these resources can be found around the globe. Some of them are not fully utilized more especially animal products. Developed countries are taking advantages on our poor policies and are buying our animal products at low prices and adding value on them by processing to final products later sending them back to us at a very high prices. IMPORTATION OF USED LEATHER CLOTHS The fastest business in most of African countries is the Importation and selling of used clothes from developed countries, African countries are becoming damping sites. -Africa being the sources of natural resources we are also very working hard and we have got very talented youths who can make use of those already used resources into something usable. In this project i decides to re-use materials from old clothes to come up with something valuables comparing to those new synthetics shoes, this shaws how wealthy REAL LEATHER IS. AFRICAN SKILLS AND TALENTS Most young men and women in Africa have the capacity to turn used items i.e. used leather jackets, old bags etc. into something new and attractive that can give back the natural leather its original glory, out of these imported used leather items we can produce shoes, bags, wallets and other valuable items because REAL LEATHER doesn’t change its natural contents. REAL LEATHER VALUES During my research I found out the leather percentages whether it was used and that can not change its natural contains. I thought of getting from local markets old leather jackets and bags to come up with something valuable and return leather’s natural glory. ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY (GREEN PRODUCTION) Turning these used leather products into something valuable we are also helping in preserving and conserving our environments because that means we are recycling them. CONCLUSION Used leather products can be re-used and still gives back its glory and better value returns. PROJECT My project is based on producing items from already used leather materials (re-cycling) meaning leather can still be returned and maintained and give out its natural value. ITEM Lady's casual boot which is giving high value according to local and neighboring country’s markets demand. On my sketches i showed from the process of designing and measuring on last cutting pieces bonding together leather peaces the final looking of my sketch.
