Abdul-Malik Musa
International
Malik Musa is a multidisciplinary designer and architectural graduate whose creative practice explores the relationship between culture, ecology, materiality, and contemporary African design. Working across architecture, furniture, objects, and conceptual installations, his work draws from diverse cultural narratives, histories, and traditional practices to create pieces that merge storytelling, functionality, and social reflection. His projects include the 8 Leg Bench, a furniture piece nominated for the Fak’ugesi African Digital Innovation Festival Design Award 2025, alongside experimental concepts that investigate community, ritual, and collective interaction through design. He is also an alumnus of the Design Week Lagos Incubator Programme Cohort 1, where he further developed his approach to culturally grounded and socially engaged design. Currently at the formative stage of his creative career, Malik is building a practice centered on research, experimentation, and making, with a focus on shaping contemporary African design narratives for the future.
