Dreamweavers of the Yi"

Category: Apparel

Competitions: China Mainland

The design piece "Dreamweavers of the Yi" draws inspiration from the broad-shouldered silhouette of traditional Yi ethnic clothing and the architectural curves of the Sydney Opera House. It aims to fuse cultural heritage with contemporary aesthetics through modern tailoring and structural form. The outfit features genuine leather for the jacket and leg accessories to emphasize strength and dimensionality, while layered cotton and linen fabrics in the inner garments ensure comfort and reflect the rich layering found in Yi attire. The overall silhouette forms a bold X-shape with exaggerated shoulders and a cinched waist, expressing a balance of power and futurism. This work embodies the idea of “Genuine Leather, Genuine Self” by transforming traditional elements into a futuristic fashion language, exploring identity, posture, and personal style through material and structure.
