Silpakorn University

I am a Product Design student from Silpakorn University in Thailand. I have a strong interest in all areas of design, and whenever an opportunity arises to grow within the design industry, I am ready to embrace it. I believe that creating and developing new ideas is one of the key forces driving the advancement of human civilization, and this belief is what inspires my passion for design. Participating in the Real Leather Competition provides a valuable platform for creativity and an opportunity to bring meaningful design work onto an international stage. Seeing my work exhibited, gaining recognition, and creating designs that can benefit both people and the environment represents my greatest aspiration as a designer. I am particularly interested in exploring ways to transform discarded and underutilized materials into meaningful design solutions. Through my work, I hope to share this perspective with others and encourage a greater appreciation for sustainable design practices. As a young designer, I constantly seek new challenges that allow me to learn from different cultures, perspectives, and creative approaches. I believe that design has the power to connect people, solve problems, and create positive change in society. I hope this competition will allow me to discover new possibilities, explore new directions in design, and open doors to new opportunities for growth as a designer.

SLOW BUT FAST

Category: Footwear

Competitions: Thailand, International

“Slow but Fast” is a pair of leather shoes that reinterprets the design language of track spikes in a contemporary way. The design reduces unnecessary elements into a more minimal form while retaining dynamic lines that convey speed, movement, and energy. The silhouette is designed to appear sleek and streamlined, creating a sense of fluidity and continuity, similar to motion lines generated during movement. At the same time, the form has been adapted to suit everyday wear. The concept of “Slow but Fast” reflects the contradiction between the visual language of speed and the idea of sustainable use. It also questions the culture of fast fashion, which often values “newness” over the long-term relationship between an object and its user. Although the shoe’s form is inspired by the world of performance and speed, its core philosophy emphasizes slower and more sustainable consumption. Constructed from durable genuine leather, supported by an upper structure designed to reduce tearing, and combined with a replaceable outsole to minimize wear on the main body of the shoe, the design allows for long-term usability and longevity. The result of “Slow but Fast” is a shoe that merges performance aesthetics with simplicity and sustainability, creating an object intended to remain with the user over time while offering a genuine response to the issues surrounding fast fashion.
