Virginia Savorani

Accademia Costume & Moda

My name is Virginia, I’m 23 years old and currently finishing my degree at the Accademia di Costume e Moda in Rome. I was born and raised in this inspiring city, where my passion for the arts began at a very young age. I started painting with oils at six years old, and that early connection to visual expression led me to explore many other artistic forms, eventually guiding me to the world of fashion. During my academic journey, I discovered a deep affinity for accessory design. With the encouragement of my professor, I realized that this field allowed me to combine my love for craftsmanship, storytelling, and personal expression. Accessories, to me, are not just style elements, they’re emotional objects capable of capturing memories, just like a meaningful journey. Travel is another essential part of my identity. Coming from a family rooted in the aviation world, I grew up constantly on the move. Every destination has become a source of creative inspiration through culture, textures, colors, and people. This lifestyle has also nurtured my love for languages, which I often study on my own to connect with people from around the world. As a designer, I strive to create pieces that reflect the richness of these experiences. My work is guided by curiosity, emotion, and a desire to transform intangible moments into tangible, wearable designs that tell a story and preserve a memory.

‪“Odyssey in Time” is a capsule collection that explores the golden age of air travel through the lens of accessories design.‬ Inspired by the golden age of aviation in the 1960s and 1970s, the collection blends vintage elegance with a contemporary vision. Rooted in a personal heritage, it pays tribute to a woman who lived through that glamorous and elegant era, collecting unique accessories as lasting symbols of identity and memory. The collection embraces artisanal craftsmanship through the use of capim dourado, a natural Brazilian fiber that lies at the heart of the creative process. This golden material, with its luminosity and artisanal quality, becomes a symbol of personal memories tied to my travels. Handwoven, shaped into metallic variations, and translated into embossed leather textures, this material connects artisanal tradition and experimentation. The entire collection also features contrasting metallic finishes in paired gold and silver tones, giving each piece a distinctive character. Due to the brightness and brilliance of the materials used, the pieces in this capsule collection become true “jewel bags.” The color palette evokes the refined atmosphere of the golden age of aviation: deep blue and violet recall the elegance of vintage uniforms and interiors. Bright pink, also seen in some of the era’s iconic flight attendant uniforms, introduces a bold and vibrant note, representing the dynamic, glamorous spirit of the time. Odyssey in Time is not just a collection, it’s a tribute to travel as an intimate experience, a celebration of the emotional value of an accessory that, like travel itself, holds memories.
