Coral's Cyanotype Heartbeat

Category: Apparel

Competitions: China Mainland

A matte-black coat, like a veil of shadowed thought, rises at the shoulders with 3D-printed coral branches. Inside, a thermosensitive cyanotype lining blooms with ECG-like waves in response to body heat—when you think, cyan lines pulse violently, transforming into a battleground of logic and emotion. The asymmetrical skirt is cut into fragments of memory: the left side slopes sharply to reveal textured crêpe, embedded with hand-blown glass jellyfish that flicker with bioluminescent breaths at every step. The right side is densely etched with sonar memory maps, recording the eternal heartbeat of Atlantic tides. The 3D structural garments embody coral symbiosis—transparent resin ribs coil around magnetofluid conduits, where liquid metal devours light in sync with sound frequencies, exploding into indigo nebula vortices. The finale piece, an irregular maxi skirt, pushes cyanotype craftsmanship to its limits: its gradient hem, woven from recycled fishing nets, bears fossil-like imprints of real coral specimens. Each fold hides UV-reactive microchips; the stronger the sunlight, the deeper the memories resurface, like time-washed recollections slowly awakening. Here, cyanotype—both as a traditional craft and photographic art—comes alive on fabric, breathing vivid intrigue into fashion. | Black Coat | Thought Projection + Coral Branches | Thermo-Cyanotype ECG × 3D-Printed Bones | | Asymmetrical Skirt | Pulse Wave + Memory Fragments | Breathing Glass Jellyfish × Sonar Etching | | 3D Structural Wear | Thought Vortex + Symbiotic Network | Magnetofluid Light-Devouring × Resin Coral Skeleton | | Irregular Maxi Skirt | Memory Growth + Coral Fossils | Specimen Imprint × UV-Reactive Microchips | (Note: "晒蓝" is translated as "cyanotype," a photographic printing process that produces cyan-blue prints, often used in botanical photograms. The term carries both artistic and scientific connotations, fitting the collection's fusion of craft and technology.)
