Fashion and Textile

My name is Krittithee Petchsuksai, but everyone calls me Guy. I’m currently studying Fashion and Textile at Chulalongkorn University under the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts. Fashion has been a passion of mine since I was young. I’ve always been inspired by global runway shows and dream of one day being part of that world. Studying fashion has brought me closer to that dream, and I’m incredibly thankful for my professors who have guided me and opened my world—especially during a field trip to Kongsiri Leather Factory. That experience sparked my deep fascination with cowhide. I learned to see the natural imperfections in leather not as flaws, but as unique characteristics that tell a story. Since then, I’ve fallen in love with leather and often choose it as the primary material in my design process. I’m passionate about sustainable fashion and believe that leather, when used thoughtfully, can be a responsible material. Its durability, timeless appeal, and graceful aging process make it a valuable alternative to fast fashion. I’m also passionate about exploring innovative techniques that enhance the raw beauty of leather, combining craftsmanship with creativity to push design boundaries. Through my work, I aim to create pieces that reflect both aesthetic depth and environmental awareness—contributing to a more thoughtful and inspiring fashion industry.

PANDORA’S DECEPTION

Category: Apparel

Competitions: Thailand

PANDORA’S DECEPTION This project, titled PANDORA’S DECEPTION, explores the concept of power being misused by those in higher positions. The main inspiration is drawn from Greek mythology, conveyed through Hellenistic Greek sculpture, often reflecting themes of curses, confinement, and violence rooted in authority. The key focus of this collection is the development of embossing techniques on vegetable-tanned leather. These patterns are used not only for visual impact but also to express the core narrative of the collection. It also represents an effort to enhance the value of leather scraps left over from the cowhide industry through fashion design and craftsmanship. The garments are created with both creativity and technical interest in mind, yet remain wearable in everyday life. Sustainability plays an essential role in this project, emphasizing mindful material use and the environmental impact of the fashion industry.
