The “Afro- Fusure” basically means fusing African traditional fashion into modern future fashion, the design details life of an African, using Lagos as a case study. There’s a recycled denim jacket which was dyed into adire to show the combination of African local art and modern fabrics in a natural and aesthetically appealing style. The leathered under-bust corset was used to hold down the denim jacket and also the leather dress inside to form a bit a layered look, this has a significant meaning stating how individuals at the top offices can better help control waste and promote sustainable fashion. The leather dress is combination of different leather pieces coming together to form a beautiful bustier dress, this is to deliver a message concerning the versatility of a good leather. The zigzagged patched leather and denim combo pants signifies the everyday struggle of a busy Lagos, the traffic, the hustle and bustle of the market, the zigzag shows the internal strugged of survival.
