WOVEN TRACE

Category: Apparel

Competitions: Taiwan Region

Inspired by a traditional Taiwanese bamboo-woven chair from childhood—once tightly crafted, yet gradually loosening and forming gaps over time—the design views these “imperfections” as traces of real use and the warmth of lived experience. The design emphasizes sustainability by fully utilizing an entire piece of leather, ensuring zero waste. Through bamboo-inspired weaving techniques, uneven density and asymmetrical gaps are intentionally preserved, symbolizing the contrast between intact memories and the honest marks left by time. The design embraces imperfection as proof of true existence, reflecting a zero-waste philosophy and the enduring harmony between traditional craftsmanship and nature.
