Sailor’s Leather Jacket

This “Sailor’s Leather Jacket” is from my LCF-Final Major Colletion-Look3. This Look was inspired by the Sailor’s look in Fassbinder’s film ‘Querelle’(1982). In Freud’s book “Self-Id”, he discusses a generative mechanism of homosexuality, which can also be regarded as a “sexual perversion”, the principle of which is closely related to the misalignment of the mother-love complex and the projection of self-image. Fassbinder’s “Querelle” is also an artistic em- bodiment of the fear and confusion of young gay sailors because of their own sexual misalignment. The highly masculine heavy-weight calfskin jacket I created was dedicated to the masterful German Film Director, and also illustrated the masculine and feminine sides of a young sailor.
