My name is Su Yi-Hung, and I am currently a third-year student in the Department of Fashion Design and Management at Shih Chien University. I began studying fashion design in high school and have since created many works that reflect my growing experience and passion. I see myself as a free-spirited artist with a vivid imagination, always eager to bring the ideas in my mind to life through tangible creations. For me, design is more than just a technical skill—it’s a language of self-expression and a way to communicate with the world. I enjoy combining different materials and experimenting with colors to craft unique visual styles. I’m not afraid to break away from convention and am constantly exploring new possibilities. In the future, I hope to continue growing as a designer and create pieces that are not only distinctive but also emotionally resonant.
Design Concept:
This shoe design is inspired by jellyfish. When I first saw the image of a jellyfish, I was immediately struck by its graceful presence - it looked as if it were dancing freely in the water, moving effortlessly with the current, just like a ballerina spinning lightly on stage. In that moment, I didn't just see a sea creature - I saw a symbol of a free and untamed soul.
The jellyfish's tentacles resemble layers of soft, puffy tutus, floating and swaying in the ocean, gentle yet full of rhythm, serene yet alive. Through this pair of shoes, I want to embody the emotions of elegance, individuality, and freedom. The overall silhouette incorporates flowing lines and translucent materials, with a gradient of light blue, blue, and purple to create a dreamlike, underwater ballet aesthetic. The heel design draws inspiration from the jellyfish's tentacles, while the upper extends into a soft, airy shape reminiscent of a ballerina's tutu - presenting the feeling of dancing freely, without restraint, in the
ocean.
"Dance of the Water Moon" represents a stage deep beneath the calm, dark sea, where every soul is free to dance to their own unique rhythm - unrestrained, graceful, and true.
