I am currently studying Fashion and Apparel Design at Jiangxi Institute of Fashion Technology. I have long focused on innovative applications of genuine leather and research into sustainable leather fashion. I excel at integrating the natural textures of genuine leather, traditional craftsmanship and modern tailoring techniques. I constantly delve into leather processing techniques including shaping, splicing, vintage finishing and upcycling. Concerned about pollution caused by fast fashion, I recognize the sustainable value of genuine leather. As a by-product of animal husbandry, genuine leather is durable and biodegradable, which can extend garment lifespans and cut down resource waste. I have taken part in leather craftsmanship training and apparel design projects, and created multiple collections centered on genuine leather. I am adept at exploring textural distinctions among various leathers such as cowhide, vegetable-tanned leather and waxed leather to deliver unique visual expressions. By entering this competition, I aim to interpret the diverse aesthetic charm of genuine leather through original designs, break the public’s stereotyped perceptions of leather, convey the independent and sustainable fashion ethos of "Real Leather, Stay Different", and explore potential design directions for natural leather in the future.

《MELT FLOW》

Category: Apparel

Competitions: China Mainland

This series takes intangible cultural heritage as its core creative inspiration, capturing the instantaneous dynamic aesthetics of high-temperature molten iron bursting and splashing, and integrating traditional folk fireworks with dark avant-garde women's clothing. The color extraction includes gilded, flame blue, and silver white with iron flowers, paired with a steady matte black to create the main tone, and the layers correspond to the changes in brightness and darkness of sparks. The fabric is made of aged cowhide as the main carrier, supplemented by soft materials such as pure cotton and modal, and the soft hard collision restores the dual texture of rough iron and smooth melt. The design adopts an asymmetric deconstruction of the cowhide silhouette, with a combination of long and short jackets, wide leg pants, and leather shorts to enrich the layering of the outfit. The slanted collar and staggered split cut replicate the freely flowing lines of the iron flower. Transform the splashing flame pattern into fluid printing, distribute it on the clothing body and pants legs, and simulate the flow trajectory of molten iron. The entire design uses modern deconstructive fashion to carry traditional intangible cultural heritage imagery, capturing the fiery fusion of iron flowers that bloom in an instant, achieving a collision and symbiosis between Eastern fireworks aesthetics and avant-garde street style.
