Bags

My name is Irene Kajumba, l started my journey as a designer having left my 1st Job. Craft and designing is my passion. I started a Daycare where l could design space for the Children and also train them at a very early stage to solve problems practically through do it yourself activities. In 2020 with COVID lockdown, l got an idea of making my first bag. With the help of YouTube l taught myself slowly by slowly the how to. Until l was able to make my 1st pattern. Because l didn't know how to sew, l opted for a no sew bag. I cut out my pattern and joined the pieces with weaving and glue. I really wanted to start up something that would support my family plus some of the ladies that worked at the day-care. My 1at bag was a success and then planned on making more. And l desired to open a shop with Crafts made by Mother's Love Crafts. Today the shop is open and we skill people around us. I have made a series of design in both leather and clothe. The project l am submitting this time is my 1st inspiration for a simple town girl more or a Tote bag.

Urban girl bag

Category: Accessories

Competitions: Africa

This urban girl bag was inspired by the fact that l didn't know how to sew and hence designed a bag that only required the use of glue (optional) and joining by weaving parts together. It can be completed with pure leather on the front and back faces, with a touch of printed canvas material for weaving the belt that joins the bag on the sides and the bottom. The printed canvas material gives the bag an girly urban look which eventuates its beauty as well.
