Portfolio Self-Introduction
As a Product Design student from Donghua University, I have always anchored my design practice in the integration of traditional oriental aesthetics and contemporary modern design. With a systematic professional training in product modelling, material research, structural design and creative concept development, I gradually formed my unique design perspective: tradition is not a static ornament, but a living structural language that can be reconstructed and applied to modern daily products.
During my design exploration, I have focused on the innovative integration of Chinese traditional costume culture and contemporary bag design. Different from the common superficial application of traditional patterns in accessory design, my core creation breaks the inherent design routine. I take the classic cross-collar structure of traditional cheongsam as the core research object, thoroughly deconstruct its unique folding logic, overlapping relationship and implicit oriental structural aesthetics. By extracting the classic structural characteristics of cheongsam cross-collar, I reorganize and translate this exclusive oriental costume language into the silhouette modeling, opening structure and spatial layout of modern handbags.
In the whole design process, I constantly balance cultural inheritance, aesthetic presentation and practical functionality. I abandon rigid copying of ancient costumes and complete the modern transformation of traditional craft aesthetics through rational design thinking and repeated scheme iteration. I believe that excellent design should carry cultural heritage while conforming to the aesthetic and usage needs of contemporary people.
In future design creation, I will continue to take Chinese traditional folk aesthetics as the core source of inspiration, keep exploring the boundary between traditional costume structure and modern product design, and create minimalist, textured and culturally profound design works that integrate oriental temperament and modern fashion sense.
