Apparel, Haute Couture, Jewellery

My name is Xu Shubo, and I studied Fashion and Fashion Design at Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts for my undergraduate degree. I would like to introduce myself based on my personal preferences in clothing. Firstly, in the design of clothing and accessories, I like to use traditional aristocratic or folk elements and colors from both the East and the West to create magnificent or even exaggerated works. I believe that these elements, after the sedimentation of history, are the crystallization of humanities that can withstand scrutiny. Secondly, I will integrate various subcultural elements that interest me to interpret my aesthetic style, because I believe that subcultures are more conducive to interpreting personal characteristics, attitudes, and thoughts. I would prefer to use natural, colorful, and vibrant elements such as flowers, birds, fish, and insects that are relatively popular. They are more suitable for designing and decorating complex and exquisite shapes. Based on the above elements, I prefer to use solid and textured materials with thickness, or stack lightweight fabrics together using various techniques like extreme complexity. The above is my personal introduction to myself.

My love for moths is not focused on the "spirit" bestowed upon them by humans, but more on the charm of their appearance. Moths inevitably encounter butterflies for comparison. Butterflies expand and stretch in various directions on their outer contours, radiating a beautiful and flamboyant beauty towards the surroundings. The scales and hair on the wings are more shiny, with high color saturation and rich and varied color spots. Compared to moths, they are more introverted and their hair is relatively slender Matte (there are also moths that sparkle like butterflies) with a darker color, mainly black and white camel color, mostly warm yellow. The outer contour of the moth is like that of a butterfly, radiating in all directions. However, the most distinctive feature is that it is most commonly seen in daily life, with a "human" shape extending naturally towards the tail. In my opinion, this form is more subtle and symbolizes elegance. What fascinates me the most is the circular pattern of moths, because there is no dazzling color or reflection. The presence of these circular spots is stronger, like the pupils of animals staring at the creatures that gaze at them.
