Hello I am Mariana Paredes a 23 year old Peruvian. I am currently in the process of creating my own clothing brand and its my mission to approach garment production in an ethical and transparent way that considers both people and the planet. In Peru there is a vast resource of fibers and ancient techniques that sustain an ecological way. From my career I want to showcase and bring awareness to the need of being sustainable it´s the only path. Also to portray my creativity and make a business out of it. I graduated from Istituto Marangoni fashion design in June last year.

¨Pichu Pichu¨

The design of this series is called ¨Pichu Pichu¨it is inspired by a myth from my homecountry Peru called ¨The sleeping Indian¨, I took inspiration from the shapes of the mountain which come from the image of a sleeping indian and combined it with ancient ceramics called ¨huacos¨ which portray the faces of ancient peruvians and the straight lines from the corset come from the andean mountain range. It is made from leather cowhide 100%. This design tries to adnowledge my culture and celebrated while making an appaerel item that will last forever.
