Parallel Passions A collection that initiated from the union of two passions. Passions are key to have a better understanding of who we really are. Sometimes we think that we can’t follow more than one passion, especially if these seem to belong to different worlds… worlds that we thought couldn’t meet… What if there is the possibility to find a common point in the diversity of our passions? This explains the existence of Parallel Passions, finding a common point between two passions that didn't seem to exist. The beauty of the mountains where we practice skiing extends towards the world of fashion. The skiing world that is transformed and is also approaching those who do not practice this sport, the skiing equipment used to create a collection of men’s fashion, designed for a modern, practical, elegant man, who likes to dare without exaggerating, who is intrigued to discover the different use of objects that until now seemed reserved only those who enjoy themselves on the slopes. Skiing boots that transform into sneakers, backpacks with strap boosters used as braces, another type of booster used as a closure for a bag… and many other ideas to be implemented to make this osmosis increasingly harmonious and innovative. Parallel Passions is the fusion of two worlds that becomes reality. ___________________________________________________________ For this project the material that I decided to grab from the ski world are all recycled. I had the possibility to collaborate with Rossignol a fundamental industry for us skiers, the idea was to grab all the materials that came forme the ski world, that couldn’t be used any more for the sport( due to safety reasons), and use it for my bags. Instead of throwing them away I decided to adjust them and use them as a closure, handle or strap. In this specific case the closure of the bag has been thought to be used the booster*of the skiing boots ( fundamental for us skiers) using it as a closure for the bag. The thing that interested me the most was how materials form the ski world that for a security reason couldn’t be used anymore for practicing skiing, could have a second life and be reused in an original way. *what you see in the front of the bag used as a closure is a skiing booster.
