George Kamiti was born in 1992 in Nanyuki, Kenya. Graduated from Kenyatta University, he creates artworks and costumes using recycled materials and found objects with the beautiful look of stitches, blending artistry with environmental consciousness. He has taken part in different exhibitions including Kenya National Museum, Karen Country Club, Noir Gallery and other pop-up exhibition. He participated in Art and About Africa in 2020. Attended residency in Karen Village where he also participated in MAREJEO exhibition in 2021. Participated in JAMA Festival held in Burundi in 2022. He is a member of the 10k collection organized by NFA Space. Was a Part of KITENGE YANGU exhibition held in The Kenya National Museum in 2024.Participated in AKKA exhibition "Don't be a Square" Vernice, Italy in 2024. George Kamiti finds comfort in abandoned remnants of urban life.His works turns turmoil into beauty and tells stories of resiliency and renewal from abandoned artifacts. By fusing together desperate pieces of existence inspired by our African way of life, socioeconomic standing, culture and environment. George aims to emphasize the transformational potential of perception and raise the interconnection of the entire world. He believes while doing this he is reducing waste and creating sustainability, his work encourages people to appreciate the harmony that results from accepting our shared past and to view the world through new eyes.
