The design is developed from the image of the conical hat – a symbol rich in Vietnamese cultural value – and recreated through genuine leather, combining traditional layering and hand-weaving techniques. The leather layers are arranged in a concentric structure, reminiscent of the original form of the bamboo and leaves, while effectively exploiting the material's characteristic shape, durability, and aesthetic appeal. The design represents an intersection between cultural heritage and contemporary design language. Beyond its function as a headwear accessory, the product is developed with a multi-functional approach. The components are designed to be detachable, allowing for restructuring into a belt, necklace, or decorative charm, thereby expanding its use and extending its lifespan. Through this design, I aim to create a bridge between traditional values and modern design thinking, combining indigenous craftsmanship with a contemporary approach. Familiar imagery is reinterpreted in a new context – flexible, applicable, and sustainably oriented – to contribute a fresh perspective on the potential of heritage development in the fashion industry.
