《Mutations》

Category: Apparel

With "mutation" as the core concept, this series explores the process of continuous evolution and reorganization of viruses between the environment and the host, and transforms it into clothing design language. The virus is no longer just a single form, but produces distorted, overlapping and irregular changes in diffusion and adaptation, symbolizing an unstable but evolving state of life. In terms of design, through asymmetrical cutting and deconstruction techniques, it presents the visual effect that the body seems to be eroded and transformed, creating a vague boundary between human beings and mutations. In terms of material application, leather is chosen as the main structure, symbolizing the boundary between external protection and hardness, and at the same time comparing the internal gradually out-of-control mutation state; while the self-made printed fabric is inspired by the virus form and uses the image of diffusion, fission and cell structure to design, so that the pattern presents an organic and irregular sense of spread. The conflict and integration between print and leather further strengthens the theme of "mutation" and shows the process from order to disorder. The whole series tries to convey the tension of the continuous evolution of the virus and the relationship between both resistance and coexistence between people and the unknown through clothing.
