RE:COCOON

Category: Accessories

This work, titled "RE:COCOON" explores sustainability and transformation through the perspective of leather. Leather is often considered a finished material after use, eventually becoming waste. However, I see it as something that carries time, memory, and traces of life-still existing in a state of transformation. Through deconstruction, reconstruction, and wrapping of reclaimed leather, the material is returned to a cocoon-like state of protection and renewal, symbolizing the beginning of rebirth. The bag serves as the medium, reflecting the human posture of curling up—an act of rest, protection, and self-repair during moments of exhaustion or uncertainty. The "RE" in the title stands for Recycle, Rethink, and Return, representing a process of reusing materials, re-evaluating their value, and returning them to a transformative state. This work not only addresses material sustainability, but also expresses emotional growth-embracing the past and moving forward with it.
