Negative Eye

I attempted to explore a central question through this design concept: When we are forced to confront the darkest corners of our emotions, do we choose to suppress them, run from them, or coexist with them? In terms of form, I integrated anatomical structures with the imagery of mimetic tentacles, transforming the eye from a passive organ into something that feels sentient—entwining and interfering with its host. This symbolizes the backlash of emotions on both the body and behavior. For material choices, I used synthetic fur, PVC foam, and vegetable-tanned leather to create a sensation that feels organic yet unnatural, enhancing the eerie and unsettling atmosphere. This work is not only an experiment in form and character design, but also a visual parable on a psychological level: “The eye is not an invader—it is a part of us we’re finally forced to see.”
