Baltica FW26
Category: Apparel
My exclusion from wealth, and, by extension, luxury fashion, pushed me to invent a radically personal approach to garments. Inspired by the Soviet landscape, using deconstructed garments, deadstock, and materials from scrap stores to mimic the resourcefulness I have learned from my Eastern European upbringing. Baltica is a space for me to express my emotions but also observe identity and masculinity. I often draw inspiration from my musician friends living in grey, industrial cities across Ireland. The people who carry a restrained, pinned-up aggression shaped by today’s economic inequality reflect the reason behind this collection. Most of the pieces are made from scrap and found materials, expressing how creativity becomes one of the few ways we can release and process our emotions.
