SymBridle

As an artist who has studied equestrianism, I find that it is easy for the public to misunderstand the relationship between riders and horses as one of control and being controlled or exploitation and being exploited. But in my opinion, in equestrian sports, the relationship between riders and horses is one of mutual influence and mutual achievement. And even when seen as a dominant position, the rider himself may be another animal subject domesticated by the system. So I decided to redesign the harness to show "true equality between man and horse". I chose the bridle because it is a relatively misunderstood piece of horse gear - it connects the bit to the reins and allows you to signal to the horse how to behave. One end of the traditional reins is worn on the horse's face and mouth, and the other end of the reins is in the human hand; I modified it by putting the end that was originally held in the rider's hand in the human face and mouth. Both humans and horses will produce actions in their mouths that will affect each other. I tried to show the equality and mutual influence between humans and horses in this way.
