Manlot Leather Jewelry

My design entry is entitled “Manlot” inspired by the giant clam shells of the Philippines, a country with more than 7,000 islands with very long coastline and rich bio-diversity. These sea shells are endangered which opened up an idea for me to magnify this in my design. I created paper prototypes to play around with design mimicry of the clam shells forming it into a necklace. This design promotes my advocacy for sustainable materials in costume jewelry which are ethical and responsible, most of all, sustainable.
