This project takes the “food chain” as its core concept, inspired by Adventure Time’s interpretation of the cycle of life, and further transforms it into a reflection on contemporary consumption and material use. Rather than viewing the food chain as a system of mere predation and depletion, this design proposes a more affirmative perspective—that consumption is not an end, but a process of transformation and continuation of life. Within this context, cowhide is chosen as the primary material to address how design can extend the value of life after consumption. By transforming leather into an object with longevity and emotional connection, what might otherwise be overlooked becomes a carrier of memory and time, embodying a sense of respect for life. Formally, the design incorporates the imagery of a nurturing pouch or maternity carrier, symbolizing enclosure, protection, and incubation. It reflects the continuous flow and transformation of life across different forms. The work not only responds to the concept of the food chain, but also seeks to bridge function and symbolism, becoming both a question and a response to sustainability, coexistence, and the continuation of life.
