Liminal Love

Category: Accessories

Inspired by Howl's Moving Castle and W, this work explores love and existence. Sophie’s transformation into an old woman paradoxically grants her freedom, symbolizing self-acceptance beyond external constraints. Howl’s pact with Calcifer binds love and life together, while the castle’s shift from walking to flying reflects inner liberation. The promise, “Find me in the future,” and the scarecrow’s silent devotion embody a love that transcends time and form. Meanwhile, Oh Yeon-joo’s perspective reveals the difference between genuine love and blind admiration. Love is not about idealized perfection, but about embracing a soul that is fragile, flawed, and capable of pain. In a world where reality and illusion intertwine, even if one’s existence is denied by all, a single sincere love is enough to affirm it. True love becomes an intimate secret shared by two, unseen by others, yet powerful enough to define one’s worth and meaning.
