In the Seams
Category: Accessories
This project, titled In the Seams, explores the transformation of trauma, repair, and growth into a functional and visible bag structure. A diagonal zipper serves as the primary visual element, symbolizing the opening and closing of wounds and the exposure of inner emotions. Zigzag stitching and irregular edges mimic the traces of mending, turning the act of repair into a visible design language. The bag adopts an A4 vertical format, balancing practicality with conceptual expression. A detachable side pouch extends both storage and visual layering, while the expandable bottom, activated by a zipper, allows increased capacity—reflecting the evolving nature of personal growth. A contrasting interior color reveals itself when opened, suggesting the release and presence of inner emotions. Through the integration of structure, material, and detail, the design embraces imperfection as a source of strength, reinterpreting the relationship between trauma and the self.
