Heart and soul

1. Inspiration: A Dialogue Between Micro and Macro The design begins with an observation of cardiac anatomy. The heart is more than just a biological pump; it is a vessel for human emotion. In the experimental mood board, I used curled red felt to simulate the muscular density and power of the cardiac chambers. Splattered and bubble-like artistic textures represent the dynamic process of blood rushing through vessels and oxygen exchange. The interwoven web of fine threads symbolizes the intricate capillary networks within our tissues, conveying an endless flow of life energy. 2. Visual Transformation: Texture and Structural Interweaving The silhouette features exaggerated, rounded shoulder lines that echo the full, anatomical form of the heart’s atria and ventricles, creating a powerful aura of presence. • Textural Application: The main body of the garment utilizes a deep burgundy jacquard fabric to mimic the depth and texture of cardiac muscle. The bright red criss-cross bands layered on top simulate the intersecting muscle fibers and arterial distributions found in anatomy, creating a sharp visual contrast. • Dynamic Rhythm: The fringe detailing at the hem is a focal point of the movement. As the wearer moves, the swaying fringe mimics the flow of blood and the rhythmic beat of a pulse, allowing the static garment to exhibit the vitality of a "living organism." 3. Core Allegory: The Weight of Life This design seeks to explore the dual meaning of the term "Heart’s Blood" (心血)—referring not only to physiological circulation but also to the psychological devotion and painstaking effort inherent in creation. • Color Strategy: The palette ranges from deep crimson and scarlet to metallic dark reds, representing the color shifts of blood under different pressures and oxygen levels, evoking an atmosphere that is both mysterious and divine. • Footwear Integration: The thigh-high bright red boots symbolize life force being projected from the heart all the way to the extremities of the limbs.
