GAZZZE
Category: Footwear
This pair of boots is wearable art and a declaration of the self, where eyes represent social scrutiny, teeth symbolize anxiety and suppression, bones reflect inner wounds, and lips and tongue signify rumors and criticism. In this design, these elements are repositioned beneath the feet, transforming external pressure into a foundation for movement—eyes become stepping stones, teeth turn into determination, bones form support, and tongues are silenced under each step. Through this transformation, negativity is redefined as grounding force, allowing each step to respond to judgment and move beyond imposed definitions toward personal freedom. Titled “gazzze,” derived from “gaze” and altered with repeated “z” to reflect tension and suppression, the work reinterprets being seen as something to confront, transform, and overcome.
