SCARASM (SHANGBA)

Category: Design

Human as one kind of animal species. The skin indeed is the outmost lining of a vertebrate’s body. In mammals, skin protects the underlying tissues. On one hand, skin is solid is a protective layer to prevent damage. On the other hand skin is fragile, indeed it can be easily damaged, resulting into scars. The scar is characterized by imperfection which tells a unique story. Look at your body. Check your hands, your arms, your legs and you’ll eventually find a scar from an old injury. We all have a scar somewhere on our skin. Sometimes we feel ashamed of it and try to cover or hide it not letting others see the defects. But we shouldn’t forget that the scar gives an identity, a unique story and reminds us our past. The core of the collection is about people should have the positive attitude toward the defects and imperfections physically and mentally. Facing and embracing the scar on the skin and inside the heart. Inspired by Lucio Fontana and Carol Christian Paul. In my design you will see the combination of the materials of leather and natural cotton made jersey which contrasting the durability and the flexibility. Confidence and courage. All the collections will be realized with leather leftovers from the factory. Besides, before realizing the garment I will render in Clo3D to reduce the using of pattern paper and muslin.
