Vein textures and ocellus markings on moth wings are reinterpreted to sculpt the leather bodice, while the high stand collar and layered textures recreate the enveloping shape of a cocoon. Hollow cut-outs mimic the cracks of a breaking cocoon. The off-white leather shell restrains the figure, creating a striking contrast with the sleek black mini skirt. Using the imagery of cocoons and moths, the garment conveys the duality of confinement and liberation, symbolizing how one gathers strength amid restraints to ultimately break free and achieve self-transformation. Titled Bound Cocoon, the work builds a spiritual narrative based on the life cycle of moth metamorphosis. A cocoon stands for both confinement and a vessel for self-growth. It explores the eternal theme of restraint and rebirth. Restrictions from the outside world and hardships in life wrap people like silk threads, yet they also create a quiet space for inner accumulation. Bondage is not merely a fetter; quiet accumulation is essential for transformation. The design metaphorizes the living state of contemporary youth, conveying that we should not fear temporary predicaments. By gathering strength amid pressure, we will break spiritual chains, reshape ourselves and embrace a brand-new identity.
