《Topology of Illustrator》是一件來自我對服裝設計創作過程反思的作品。一直以來，設計常被視為一種難以說清楚的直覺，一種只有設計師本人才能理解的感覺。我想挑戰這種神祕的想像，試著把設計變得更透明、更容易被看見和理解。 這次我不把「衣服」當作唯一的創作對象，而是把整套設計流程當作主角。我用 Illustrator 軟體，把我們熟悉的服裝符號（像是西裝、裙子、領口）用軟體中的工具──圖層、線條、透明度等等──重新畫出，整理成像 Ikea 使用說明書一樣的格式。看起來像是組裝圖，但其實是我對服裝語言的整理和重建。 這樣的方式，讓原本很主觀、很個人的創作變成一套可以被分享、甚至被學習的系統。我想表達的是：設計不只是靈感，它也可以是一種被看懂的語言，一種人人都可以參與的創作方式。 這套系統化的圖像不只是有趣和可愛，更是一種思考工具。它打開了設計內部的邏輯，讓人看見設計背後的規則、選擇、限制，並重新思考我們平常覺得「很自然」的服裝樣式，其實是怎麼被畫出來的、想出來的。 Topology of Illustrator is a reflection on the process of fashion design. Design is often seen as something intuitive and hard to explain—something that lives only in the mind of the designer. I wanted to challenge that idea by making the thinking behind design more visible and understandable. Instead of focusing on clothing as the final product, this project turns the design process itself into the main subject. Using Adobe Illustrator, I translated familiar fashion symbols—like suits, skirts, and collars—into a visual system built with basic Illustrator tools such as layers, outlines, transparencies, and patterns. The result looks like an Ikea instruction manual, but for fashion. By doing this, I hope to turn what’s usually seen as personal intuition into something more open and shareable—a kind of democratic design language that anyone can read, learn from, and maybe even use themselves. This system isn’t just fun or cute. It’s a way to open up the logic behind fashion design, to show how certain styles and choices are constructed, and to question why some things are considered “natural” in clothing. It invites viewers to see design not just as inspiration, but as structure—something you can take apart, understand, and reimagine.
