My Hoàng Thị Trà

My name is Hoang Thi Tra My, born in 2005, and I am currently a Fashion Design student at Hanoi Architectural University. With a foundation in fine arts and a strong passion for fashion, I approach design as a dialogue between artistic thinking, personal emotion, and real-world application. As an art student, I possess skills in sketching, garment design, hand embellishment, and sewing, which allow me to transform concepts from drawings into tangible products. I am particularly interested in materials — how they move on the body, interact with light, retain traces of time, and carry their own stories. To me, materials are not merely technical elements but emotional languages. Leather, with its durability, flexibility, and organic beauty, inspires me to explore the relationship between humans, the body, and the surrounding environment. In addition, my basic photography skills support my ability to observe composition, texture, and visual storytelling in design. Viewing garments through the lens of photography helps me pay closer attention to details, visual rhythm, and how a design exists within real space. I actively seek opportunities to apply fine arts in practice, treating each project as a process of research and creative experimentation. Through this competition, I hope to further explore the potential of leather in contemporary design while challenging myself to translate ideas into products that balance aesthetics and functionality. For me, this is not only a competition, but also a valuable opportunity to learn, connect, and gain clearer direction for my future creative journey.
