Luca Di Giacomantonio

Accademia Costume & Moda

Haute Couture

I am Luca Di Giacomantonio, I graduated in Fashion Design at the IED-European Institute of Design in Rome and I finished master’s degree in Haute Couture at the Accademia Costume e Moda of Rome. My passion for fashion began as a child because I grew up in the family boutique. Already at the age of 5 I was immersed in the world of fashion, then as I grew up I took more and more part in the family business, following the sample collections, working as a visual consultant, client advisor, following sector fairs and fashion shows. I have never had a plan B in life because for me fashion is an obsession, my only outlet, my dream. I have been obsessed with fashion since I was very little and lived in the family boutique. I am very attentive to detail, precise, dedicated to work and with an excellent sense of leadership. What characterizes me best is determination and curiosity, I hate wasting time and being late. When a group project starts I like to coordinate from the first inspiration to the finished product following all the steps. I study it and always look for new things with an eye always turned to the historical archive of fashion. I always try to give my best in everything I do. I am passionate about every aspect of this sector, from design to production, from graphic to manual work. With my studies I have developed my inclinations for embroidery design, print textile design, collection design, prototyping and styling. I define myself as an esthete, lover of beauty and luxury. I am obsessive at work given my immense interest in this world in every aspect. In my academic career I had the opportunity to develop projects with the Maison Valentino and the Cristobal Balenciaga Museoa for the creation of two Haute Couture collections, I participated in the Fashion Research and Innovation competition with the CNA Federmoda winning the fur section, I carried out an internship at Gentili Mosconi, leading company in the textile sector and much more...

Galleria Capovolta

Category: Apparel

Competitions: International

The “Galleria Capovolta” Collection comes out from questions I was asked, from memories, and from my personal and family history. Art as a reflection of the self and a vehicle for aesthetics, fashion as a passion and obsessiontwo elements that have always accompanied me throughout my life. The research develops from the relationship between Art and Fashion, and how art has been a fundamental vehicle for expressing realities, strong personalities, and forms of Normality often considered universal, but in reality, are extremely unique and subjective. The art of the ‘20s with Lili Elbe, the first transgender woman in history, and Cecil Beaton, who, along with Stephen Tennant, created a unique aesthetic, the years of neorealism in Rome, and the Dolce Vita, all viewed through the lens of Giò Stajano and Renato Guttuso, the strong personalities of Lisetta Carmi, April Ashley, and Mina are the core of the project. Multilingual artists, attentive to the influences of their times, pioneers of “revolutions” in the artistic, photographic, and fashion worlds. Souls who, with their extremely distinct character and personality, created something unique and wonderful. People who always looked ahead while keeping a firm grasp on their passions, inclinations, and activities. A “personal gallery” of life stories and strong characters who have transformed the perception of “normality” and challenged the rigid and often restrictive boundaries imposed by society. These individuals broke the molds, rejected labels, and redefined what it means to be authentic, creating a reality where subjectivity becomes objective thanks to their determination. Each story is a trace of courage and self-assertion, in which the self is not adapted to existing standards, but imposes its own existence unmistakably. The collection aims to represent precisely this: an extremely free and courageous person who pursues their dream and makes it a lifestyle, someone who asserts themselves for who they are. The Research feeds the Collection with embroidery, craftsmanship, studies of form and color, ensuring that each topic studied is transposed into the creation of the garments. Precious fabrics, refinement, luxury, and uniqueness are the cornerstones of the entire project.
