Camilla Colella

Accademia Costume & Moda

My name is Camilla Colella, I’m 22 years old, and I am an accessory designer with a deep passion for fashion, craftsmanship, and tradition. I believe in the value of things made with care and intention—design, for me, is a way to tell stories and give form to meaningful ideas. I was born in L’Aquila, a small city rich in history and nature. Growing up surrounded by mountains taught me the importance of silence, observation, and patience. Nature still plays a central role in my life and creativity—I often find inspiration while walking through the woods or running in the open air. Travel has also shaped my vision: since childhood, I’ve been lucky enough to explore different places and cultures. Each journey has left a trace in my projects, influencing my aesthetic and enriching my approach to design. I’m a dynamic and cheerful person, but also introspective, sensitive, and deeply focused. I value empathy and storytelling, which I see as the foundation of meaningful design. I never approach a project without a clear emotional and conceptual direction. Accessories have always been my expressive language. I see bags and shoes not as mere objects, but as visual tools of identity. During my academic path, I explored every stage of the creative process—from concept to prototyping. My goal is always the same: to create pieces that speak, move, and connect.

Connubio

Category: Accessories

Competitions: International

Connubio is the fusion of two seemingly opposite worlds: the intimacy of romantic love and the bold instinct of provocative sensuality. It’s a visual narrative built on contrasts—an alluring tension where sweetness meets desire, and elegance carries a subtle fetish undertone. Like an intense relationship, these accessories express a feeling that embraces, grips, and overwhelms. The collection speaks a contemporary, seductive language. Smooth calfskin and nappa leather are the main materials, chosen for their softness and versatility. The color palette centers on black, red, and pink: symbols of passion, power, and femininity. Soft, rounded volumes contrast with sharp cuts and pointed shapes. Silhouettes are sensual, and details whisper a refined fetish, emerging in seams, textures, and metallic touches. A key feature is the use of crochet—no longer just decorative, but structural. It merges with leather, wraps chains, forms bows and profiles, and takes center stage in the final bag: a sculptural piece in black leather and crochet that encapsulates the essence of the project. Even metal plays an active role, not just aesthetic. Chains, symbols of connection and possession, are softened and reimagined through the lightness of crochet, which envelops and transforms them. A perfect balance between contrast and harmony, where every diversity, doesn’t devide, but completes.
