Xin Ru Pan

Tainan University of Technology

My name is Pan Xin Ru. I am 20 years old and I am currently a junior at Tainan University of Applied Science and Technology. I am shy and introverted, but I can always show persistence and dedication to the things I love. Usually, my biggest interest is to dress up myself. I have high requirements for dressing and clothing details, so I choose to embark on the path of clothing design, hoping to transform the pursuit of aesthetics into practical creation. In the process of learning, I not only attach importance to the appearance of the design, but also think about how to make the work more distinctive and complete. Whenever I make clothes, I will constantly try different methods and materials, just to present works that are more in line with my concept. Even if you encounter difficulties in the process, you will find ways to overcome them and continue to improve your ability. In the future, I hope to find my own style in the field of clothing design and convey my personal ideas through my works, so that more people can see the value and temperature of design.

《Mutations》

Category: Apparel

Competitions: Taiwan Region

With "mutation" as the core concept, this series explores the process of continuous evolution and reorganization of viruses between the environment and the host, and transforms it into clothing design language. The virus is no longer just a single form, but produces distorted, overlapping and irregular changes in diffusion and adaptation, symbolizing an unstable but evolving state of life. In terms of design, through asymmetrical cutting and deconstruction techniques, it presents the visual effect that the body seems to be eroded and transformed, creating a vague boundary between human beings and mutations. In terms of material application, leather is chosen as the main structure, symbolizing the boundary between external protection and hardness, and at the same time comparing the internal gradually out-of-control mutation state; while the self-made printed fabric is inspired by the virus form and uses the image of diffusion, fission and cell structure to design, so that the pattern presents an organic and irregular sense of spread. The conflict and integration between print and leather further strengthens the theme of "mutation" and shows the process from order to disorder. The whole series tries to convey the tension of the continuous evolution of the virus and the relationship between both resistance and coexistence between people and the unknown through clothing.
