CYBER WEST

In a world struck by the Covid outbreak, dystopian and post apocalyptic themes are becoming relevant more than ever as the society is still recovering from this outbreak and hope for a brighter future is running low with political tensions rising and climate change becoming ever more apparent. This collection reflects these themes through referencing movies in the cyberpunk/dystopian genre such as Blade Runner and Mad Max and merges them with the themes of the Wild West as it can be said that both of these themes seem to follow a sense of lawlessness. The resulting garments from this blend of concepts feature an oversized, masculine, rounded silhouette with lots of layering. The main feature of this collection is a range of heavy leather harnesses based on the manipulation of saddle shapes. The leather that was used for this collection is upcycled from a range of leftover hides provided by a contract tannery.
