重新綻放的櫻花

Category: Apparel

Competitions: Taiwan Region

This work takes the cherry blossom as its central theme, reinterpreting its long-associated symbolism of transience, fragility, and ephemerality. Traditionally, the beauty of cherry blossoms is defined by the fleeting moment between full bloom and inevitable decay. However, such an interpretation also confines it to a passive existence—one that cannot endure. The design is built upon the core concept of “redefining fragility.” Leather, a material known for its strength and durability, is selected as the primary medium to transform the delicate and short-lived nature of blossoms into a visual language of structure and continuity. Beyond its physical resilience, leather symbolizes protection and strength, allowing the cherry blossom to shift from a cycle of natural disappearance to a state of preservation and permanence. In terms of form, three-dimensional floral elements are integrated with the flowing lines of the garment, presenting a vision of blossoms in continuous bloom rather than approaching decay. The incorporation of sheer fabric introduces a sense of lightness, creating a contrast between softness and strength. This interplay allows the overall design to maintain delicacy while embodying resilience and vitality.

This lucky bag artwork features a bright red as its main color, symbolizing celebration and good fortune in traditional Chinese culture. The prominent “福” character on the bag is painted in yellow, representing happiness, wealth, and peace, conveying a beautiful blessing. The top of the bag is tightened with an orange drawstring, whose knot details echo the traditional Chinese knot craft, adding cultural depth. A red Chinese knot ornament hangs as a decoration, symbolizing reunion and good luck, adding a festive atmosphere to the overall design. The black border around the bag is paired with elegant geometric patterns, giving the artwork a modern touch while maintaining its traditional essence.
