Simran Bhagwanani

I am a fashion designer currently pursuing a Master’s in Fashion Design Management at London College of Fashion, following a Gold Medal-winning Bachelor’s degree in Leather Design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), India. I would describe myself as a multidisciplinary fashion designer but at my core, I am an artist. With a background in leather and textile design, I have strong technical expertise across garments, footwear, accessories, and hard goods, with a focus on luxury and handmade processes. My work explores the intersectionality of innovation and concept-driven storytelling. I have a particular interest in sustainability, adaptive and inclusive design and emerging technologies in fashion. I enjoy taking projects from initial research and concept through to prototyping and final execution, combining creative thinking with strong technical skills and attention to detail. Alongside design, I have led multidisciplinary teams, worked closely with artisans and manufacturers, coordinated sourcing across India, and presented projects to industry and institutional stakeholders. Beyond design, I have spent almost a decade photographing nature, runway shows, editorial shoots and live events, giving me a deep appreciation for visual storytelling, collaboration and working effectively in fast-paced environments. I have also taught art to children, organised exhibitions and created handmade artworks. I also have experience in makeup, styling and visual merchandising.
