Hello my name is Dasha, and I’m an out of the box Costume Design student currently studying at LCF. Growing up across three very different parts of the world- born in Russia, raised in the fast-paced city of Hong Kong, and now studying in London- I’ve developed a global mindset that deeply influences how I see the world, express my creativity, and approach challenges. Being able to draw inspiration from my experiences in various cultures, both for my artistic and entrepreneurship ideas, has allowed me to approach design with a unique lens and to envision fashion development and sustainable solutions that are creatively distinct. I am looking to not only to start my own sustainable brand, but also be able to make more of a place in the industry for costume forward fashion ideas that challenge others to express themselves and be unforgettable.

This is a project I did for my most recent university submission. It is a reimagining of the Black Panther costume, instead highlighting its cultural and historic routes. I used leather techniques such as embossing and wet moulding to create this unique garment.
