仓|Granary

Work Description: The North China Plain, a land that has taught me the weight of "born here, raised here," yet also shows me the silent struggle of people who are "bound to the land, dedicated to the land." I aim to break this stillness through design. "Warehouse" is a series of adaptable accessories for the new generation of returnees, bridging rural and urban life with agricultural wisdom as inspiration, enabling the transformation of function and scenes. The "warehouse" itself is a materialized symbol of the land’s gifts. In ancient China, it was a tool for storing grains, and in this context, the bag also represents the carrying of items. I intend to transform the static granary into a dynamic "walking container." In the spring sowing scene, a sun hat can transform into a seed bag or shoulder bag; in the summer plowing scene, workwear can convert into a business shoulder bag, bridging the gap between field labor and urban office work; in the autumn harvest scene, the "scarecrow" silently guards the grain, while also serving as a temporary resting place for farming tools. At the same time, the design cleverly integrates local materials such as straw weaving with the reuse of discarded leather, showcasing the combination of sustainability and functionality. The concept of "dual-use accessories" maximizes material conservation, breathing new life and meaning into the work.
