Starting from a love for my country and a deep appreciation for history, this project has given me a wonderful opportunity to blend creativity with cultural tradition, expressing history through the perspective of a young person. I aimed to portray Vietnamese history through my own lens by designing a unique leather bag. This bag is inspired by the folk figure “Tiến Sĩ Giấy” (Doctor Paper) — a traditional Mid-Autumn Festival toy. The Doctor Paper represents a tribute to the scholars of the past. He is often placed on the offering tray during the festival and later kept on a child’s study desk as a reminder of the virtues and wisdom of the ancestors. Through this project, I hope to create a meaningful connection between the younger generation and cultural heritage — turning a bag not just into a fashion accessory, but into a vivid painting, a living book that opens to stories of history and tradition.
