Donghua University

I am a Class of 2022 student majoring in Product Design at the College of Fashion and Design, Donghua University. As a passionate design learner with a strong interest in fashion, I specialize in the innovation and practice of fashion product design, covering diverse categories such as bags, footwear, and accessories. I have participated in collaborative projects between our college and international brands like ASH, Nespresso, and ECCO, with some of the designed products already launched in the market. I firmly believe that outstanding design should not only fulfill aesthetic needs but also integrate practical value and innovative thinking. Therefore, I pay close attention to fashion and market trends, striving to explore the application of new materials and techniques in fashion products.

织野花园 WeaveBloom

Category: Accessories

Competitions: China Mainland

"Weave Bloom" is a fashionable handbag that transforms waste leather into structurally aesthetic and practical pieces through three-dimensional weaving techniques. The bag features a rich and vibrant color palette reminiscent of a summer garden, while incorporating design details such as colored ropes and greenhouse floral elements. Following the progression from "scrap materials — flat weaving — three-dimensional weaving," the process involves a series of steps: "sorting, surface cleaning, cutting into strips, skiving the leather, adhesive bonding, reinforcement, piecing together, and weaving." These steps process waste leather into weavable leather materials, which are then woven into handbags. The work preserves the vividness and craftsmanship of leather weaving. By adapting materials to their specific properties, it splices together leather pieces of different colors and textures. At the same time, small scraps of waste leather are crafted into bag accessories and charms, enhancing the utilization rate of discarded leather. This achieves a fusion of resource recycling, innovation in traditional handicrafts, and contemporary aesthetics.

TerraFlex

Category: Footwear

Competitions: China Mainland

The name "TerraFlex" is inspired by the Latin words "Terra" (earth) and "Flex" (dynamic and tech-savvy), symbolizing the vitality of metal ores that burst forth from the earth's crust. The design concept of this pair of shoes stems from reflections on the relationship between modern society and nature. Through the collision of materials and forms, it presents an aesthetic expression of the coexistence of the primitive and the future. In terms of design language, it deliberately combines natural leather with liquid metal texture materials in a bold way: the cowhide retains the natural texture and touch, symbolizing the raw power of the earth; while the specially treated metal coating material presents a flowing form full of technological sense, representing the infinite possibilities of the future. The two completely different materials are interwoven through carefully designed geometric dividing lines, like natural landscapes interspersed in modern cities, creating a strong visual tension. The entire design process utilized AIGC tools for auxiliary creation, generating various combination schemes. The three-dimensional dividing lines on the upper are inspired by futuristic architectural lines and liquid metal styles. The reflective properties of the metal parts will also produce dynamic light and shadow changes as the wearer moves. TerraFlex is not just a pair of shoes, but also a design manifesto about "symbiosis". It challenges the boundaries of traditional material applications and interprets the complex relationship between human civilization and the natural environment with an innovative design language - there are conflicts and contradictions, but also the possibility of harmonious coexistence. This breakthrough style exploration may open up new directions for future fashion design.
