I chose Ngũ Xã bronze casting village as the inspiration for my work not only because of its long-standing traditional value, but also due to the deep emotional resonance I feel when witnessing the artisans’ tireless dedication in creating intricate works of art. There, every stage—from melting metal, molding, to finishing the product—requires patience, precision, and a lasting passion for the craft. The process of bronze casting is not merely technical; it is a crystallization of knowledge, experience, and the artisan’s soul. What particularly impresses me is how the artisans collect discarded metal pieces and melt them down to be reborn as meaningful artworks. This practice has inspired me to apply a similar approach in my own creative process, using leftover scraps of leather—materials often considered worthless—to decorate and enhance . Like bronze, leather is a material that demands careful treatment, refined sensitivity, and meticulous attention in every step. Each cut, fold, and surface treatment carries the personal mark and emotions of the creator. By exploring the bronze casting process, I aim not only to recreate the beauty of traditional craftsmanship but also to express my love for sincere creativity, where humans engage in a dialogue with materials to produce artistic value. Therefore, this theme serves to honor traditional manual labor while affirming the connection between past and present in each individual’s creative journey.
