Traces Reborn

Category: Accessories

I own many pairs of sneakers, but over time they have gradually been left unused. This led me to reflect on how design could extend the life of these objects, allowing them to continue in a new form rather than being discarded. My childhood experience of participating in marathons left a strong impression on me, especially the streamlined aesthetics of running shoes, which became a key inspiration for this project. I am particularly drawn to white leather sneakers. The creases and stains that develop through use are not seen as damage in my perspective, but as traces of time and personal memories. From a sustainability perspective, I believe the true value of design is not only about material reuse, but also about encouraging longer use and emotional attachment to objects. Therefore, this project translates sneaker elements into a bag design while preserving the presence of “wear and traces,” allowing the product to accumulate stories and emotional value over time. Through this transformation, the design not only extends the lifecycle of the object, but also reduces waste caused by rapid consumption, responding to the concept of longevity and emotional durability in sustainable design.
