The graduate collection “Meereskreaturen” which is german for sea-creatures is a womenswear collection taking inspiration from drape with scuba-diving equipment as well as referencing the shape clothing takes on when it’s underwater. These references are used to create garments that appear to deform the human bodys silhouette and creating obscure non-human looking creatures. The focus of the collection lies in the intersection of structural elements coming away from the body and creative pattern cutting. Primary materials include cow leather and distressed calf skin leather. Alongside this several pieces are made from copper which was subsequently oxidised to attain a turquoise finish. Throughout the toiling process each garment received a name of which sea animal it most resembled leading to the collection title Meereskreaturen.
