Taiwan Competition now closed

The 2025 Real Leather. Stay Different. Student Design Competition – Taiwan concluded today with a vibrant Awards Ceremony at Hana Space, Taipei, celebrating creativity, craftsmanship, and sustainable design thinking. 

Co-organized by the Leather & Hide Council of America (L&HCA), the Taiwanese International Leather Association (TILA), and the Taiwan Regional Association of Tanneries, the competition attracted 268 submissions across four categories: Apparel, Accessories, Design, and Footwear. After preliminary judging in May, 19 finalists developed prototypes for the final showcase on August 29. 

The jury remarked that this year’s competition showcased a wide diversity of proposals and sophisticated craftsmanship, with some projects demonstrating strong commercial potential worthy of patent registration.

Huge congratulations to this year’s Overall Winner, Wu Jo I, whose project Pressure Lines Between Head and Shoulders took home three titles — Overall Winner, People’s Choice, and Accessories Category Winner.
